I am a Lecturer of German based at St Hilda's College in Oxford. I am teaching medieval German language and literature but also translation into German and German language. My PhD thesis was on the concepts of history in German vernacular historiography mainly focusing on the mid 12th-century Kaiserchronik.

Currently I am working on a new research project examining the fall of cities as a political and cultural narrative in transalpine medieval Europe.
